Colloq. – colloquial, a different expression is preferred in formal usage;
Slang – very informal language;
Ign. – ignorant;
Fig. – figuratively.
Red color is used for phrases that can´t be translated literally. Their accurate translation is also highlighted in red and their literate translation is in cursive and placed in parentheses:
RU: Пойдёшь к нам?
ENG: Want to work with us? (lit. Will you go to us?)
In spoken speech, some words are not pronounced the way they are spelled. Their colloquial pronunciation is highlighted in green:
“Что” is often pronounced as чё;
“Чтобы” is sometimes reduced to чтоб etc.
Most verbs are presented in this format “Орáть / поорáть” where the first verb is imperfective and the second verb is its perfective form. If only one form is mentioned, it means that the other form is hardly ever used and not worth learning.
